Education in Northumberland is moving towards the two tier system of primary and secondary schools, but in the Craster area the three tier system prevails. first schools- 4 to 9 year olds middle schools - 9 to 13 year olds high schools- 13 to 18 year olds Craster is in the catchment area for Vincent Edwards First School, Seahouses Middle School and the Duchess's Community High School. The first and middle schools are federated and share the same headteacher. The closest nursery provision can be found at Embleton - Embleton Cygnets, which has accommodation in Vincent Edwards First School, although it is under its own management.
