Report of Meeting held on June 4th 2009
SUMMER TOUR: A glorious summer day and evening was the setting of Craster Wl's outing to Whalton Manor Garden, where we were taken around by the lady of the manor, who told us the early part of the house was early 17th century and the Georgian part by Lutyens the famous architect. We had a lovely time strolling around a very natural garden with a wealth of plants, trees and shrubs. We saw this was done by a person who loved nature.
We had tea and cake and bought plants, all propagated on site.
The culmination of a perfect afternoon and evening was a meal at the Dyke Neuk. What more could you ask for: good food, friendly staff and a glorious run around in our beautiful Northumberland.
We thank Rosemary and Trish for the work put in. The competition winner was Mrs Flegg.
