Report of Annual Meeting held on 5th November2009

Craster Women’s Institute Annual Meeting took place in the Memorial Hall. Mrs. Alison Strong, one of our W. I. advisers was in attendance and she supported us through the formalities of the Annual Meeting, including the adoption of the Secretay’s annual report, the Treasurer’s financial statement and the President’s address.

Final arrangements were completed for attending the Carol Service at the Cathedral on December 10 th, lunch at Cragside, December 9 th and our Coffee Morning in aid of the Seahouses Cancer Research & Relief and Hospice Care, North Northumberland, 14 November.

Rosemary Gibbs thanked both Trish Flegg, our Secretary for eight years, and Pat Jones, our Treasurer for the past year, for all their hard work and support. She welcomed Gill Twyford and Sylvia Biott onto our Committee so we have a healthy number on it. Rosa Marshall thanked the Committee on behalf of the membership, for the year’s enjoyable programme of speakers and events.

The members voted for Rosemary Gibbs to continue as President for a further year. The Secretary and Treasurer will be appointed at the next Committee meeting.

The meeting ended with a delicious pie and pea supper – puddings provided by the Committee – accompanied by much cheerful chatter and laughter.

The Competition, letter Z, winners were Sheila Dixon, Trish Flegg and Marjorie Hewitson.
