meeting.
Bad Parking in Craster.
PC Roxy Bird gave a talk & answered questions on
policing parking problems & the powers that the Police have to
prosecute. If you ring the Police – bad parking isn’t a priority &
by the time an Officer attends the vehicle may be gone & if the
Officer doesn’t believe it is an obstruction they wont issue a parking
ticket.
Roxy came up with a working list of proposals:-
1. She will spend 1 hour per fortnight in Craster
checking on the parking & double yellow lines and speaking to
drivers who are badly parked & placing Polite Notices on
windscreens. If Roxy feels a car is causing a justified obstruction she
can then apply a Parking Fine of £30.
2. Leaflet drop for the whole of Craster & Dunstan.
3. Carol Grey will act as the contact in Craster for
Roxy & if anyone has continual problems with a badly parked vehicle
if they pass the vehicle details, times of obstruction etc on to Carol
she will forward to Roxy. Roxy will then contact the owner.
