The CCT are looking at

new roof for the Hall which will be started in September subject to the
findings of the bat survey.
1589. Parking in Craster.
CC John Taylor is
looking into the possibility of putting webbing down on the grass
outside the church for parking. All in favour.
Michael Craster’s paper
was discussed concerning the Meeting he organised with the National
Trust representatives, Margaret Brooks & Bryn Owen. They
discussed the possibility of an overflow car par on the NT field east
of the Bogue Road between Craster & Dunstan. Hopefully the NT
will come back to us with their thoughts/decision by our Sept
Meeting. If it is favourable they will need planning permission
& 12 months notice or compensation to be given to the Greys for
taking back part of the field.
NCC are currently in
negotiation with Town & Parish Councils concerning free parking for
residents.
Action Point: Clerk to contact NCC
to organise a Meeting in August to discuss their proposal.
1590. Neighbourhood Plan.
Bryn Owen has received
replies from Embleton & Newton Parish Councils concerning a
Neighbourhood Plan for the AONB area – they are not enthusiastic &
Newton needs more time to think about it.
Bryn suggested he create
a paper on our Neighbourhood Plan Options.
All in favour.
1591. Matters arising from minutes of last
meeting.
Dunstan Water Leak & Road Surface.
CC John Taylor has
secured NCC to do the drainage & re-surface the road in Dunstan
& also re-surface the road down Proctor Steads. He has spoken
to Howick Estates concerning the overgrown verges at Tower Bank &
will organise NCC to cut them. The Councillors thanked John for his
help.
Craster Pillars road markings. Completed.
Dunstan Public Phone fault.
This has now been fixed
by replacing the flat battery in the coin box.
BT Donation Request.
An email has been
received from BT advising us that they are unable to make a donation to
Craster as they get a large number of donation requests & it is not
possible to meet all of them.
Broadband for Craster. Ongoing.
Roadside trees which require pruning.
CC John Taylor will
speak to NCC about the trees if they are still a problem by our
September Meeting.
Action Point: Michael Craster to
collate the names & addresses of all the landowners around Dunstan
where there are overhanging branches across the road for the Clerk to
contact.
Bryn Owen - Register of Assets.
Action Point: Clerk to contact NCC
for formal documentation of ownership for the bus shelters for
insurance purposes & so they can be included on our Register of
Assets.
Bryn Owen - Risk Assessment.
Information has been
circulated from NALC of areas we need to address & the clerk is to
liase with John Gallon concerning the computer requirements.
Bryn Owen – Insurance requirements.
We are currently insured
through NCC.
Bryn Owen – Maintenance of Land.
Michael Craster proposed
that the Parish Council should look to register any land, which we
currently maintain which is not registered. Pauline Baird seconded. All
in favour.
Action Point: Bryn Owen will put a
sign up on the land detailing our intention.
Dog Bins – Howick.
This has been passed to
Longhoughton Parish Council.
Painting of the outside seats. Anthony
Baird has now painted them.
Pothole under Craster Arch. Done.

Embleton Joint Burial Committee Update.
The Cemetery requires a
new grass cutter preferably a front cutter which mulches (prices are
currently being sourced). There are a few fallen/leaning headstones,
which could do with being re-set & the tarmac T-junction requires
extending for turning funeral cars. The plaque marking the Garden
of Remembrance is now in place & hopefully it will get a mention in
the next issue of The Net & Whinstone Times.
