St Peter the Fisherman - Patronal Day, June 2010
Over the weekend of 26/27 June 2010 St Peter's Church held a number of events to mark their patronal day, the Feast of St Peter. Principal among them were a very successful Saturday afternoon of flowers and music in the Church and teas in the hall and church garden; and a service on Sunday at which a new altar frontal was consecrated in memory of 2 former members of the congregation. All members of the congregation rallied round to help with the festival, and a remarkable £350 was raised for church funds; pictures of the flowers that so beautified the church can be seen here. Also shown is the new altar frontal, dedicated to the memory of former parishioners Jean Breeze and Mary Craster, who generously bequeathed funds for the use of the church.

Housing Needs in the Craster area
One of our Councillors will be attending an Alnwick Area Forum Meeting in September 2010 concerning social/affordable housing needs & holiday home issues. In attendance will be NCC, Homes for Northumberland & local landlords etc.
We would welcome everyones questions, concerns & comments about housing issues in the area. Which we can take to this Meeting for discussion, towards trying to make positive changes.

Identify Ships Passing Craster!!!
From time to time we publish (rather hazy) photographs of ships passing Craster. John Gallon has discovered a super site that plots shipping movement, which can be used to identify ships in our area. In addition, this site has photographs and plenty of information about the ships passing in the distance.
The first time the page runs, it calls data from an external web site and this takes a few moments - but it is worth the wait! Subsequent visits are quicker.

Too small to be photographed, Craster was visited by the 'Seagals' on Sunday July 11th when their 24 foot rowing boat, Go Commando, was anchored a couple of hundred metres off Muckle Carr during a bit of a blow. The crew of 4 'ordinary women', as their web site says, are undertaking a circumnavigation of the British Isles. See more at.....
