Report of Meeting held in December 2011
The crossing of fingers paid off this year and the
weather was on its best behaviour so that Craster WI could hold its
planned Christmas Social. As usual the pooled supper was excellent and
we settled down with full tummies to an evening of superb entertainment
from Robert Whitehead. He provided us with a selection of songs,
interesting and amusing reminiscences and anecdotes, all of which we
thoroughly enjoyed.
We were pleased that our annual coffee morning had
raised over £570, especially since it was attended by fewer people than
last year .However those present must have dug deeply into their
pockets. Our members agreed that this is to be split between local
Hospices.
We left the event with full stomachs and a present from
Santa. We were happily looking forward to next year’s programme as well
as fitting in the annual Christmas Celebration at Hexham Abbey and a
Christmas lunch at the Cottage Inn during December. Vivienne Lowerson
had the added pleasure of knowing that she had won the competition for
an orange object.
