Report of Meeting held in May 2012
The weather in the Scottish Borders was extremely kind
to our members and one guest during our educational outing. Our
obliging Travelsure driver took us the scenic route across to Floors
Castle setting the tone for an idyllic day out. We can recommend the
food at Floors. Lots of tea and coffee was drunk. In many cases these
drinks were accompanied by the delicious meringues and eclairs on
offer. We learned about the history of our tour of the castle from the
informative guides and enjoyed wandering around the magnificent grounds
and the garden centre. Indeed we managed to clock up 1.822 miles
towards the W.I. “Big Walk Little Splash.”
We arrived home tired, happy and full as we had stopped
at the Bamburgh Castle in Seahouses on the way home for yet more food.
We are all looking forward to the June meeting when we
will partake of wine tasting.
