Report of Meeting held in September 2013
Members were
profusely
thanked for their contributions towards our fundraising day. We had a successful day and raised
£594.55.
Five members
signed up to attend the the Group
Meeting on 17th September to
listen to the mystery guest. The
speaker has yet to be confirmed as the original one has had to go into
hospital.
Doris gave
out the transport arrangements to Embleton WI’s 95th
Birthday celebration.

people were hoping to attend.
We were given a further opportunity to sign up for
six activities.

A
visit Warkworth WI and
attend an exhibition of Renaissance Costumes
brought to life as a catwalk show with music and informative historical
descriptions.

A
Geordie music hall night will take place on Thursday 21st
November

October. Pies, Peas and posh puds.

A
Thanksgiving Day lunch on 28th November
at Cresswell House.

Privacy
laws require that the WI obtain permission from its members in case
they wish
to use their photographs. All
secretaries are required to get all members
to sign a form. Those
members
present duly complied with the request.
We
have received an SOS campaign pack as well as a campaign pack to reduce
the use
of plastic bags. The secretary will
write to Alan Beith asking for his support for the campaign.
Members
were asked if they knew of anyone they wished to nominate for an Honour.
Free
copies of the Landscape magazine are available.
The
walking group’s next outing is on Wednesday 11th September
[bus to
Newton then walking back to Craster over the links.]
Sylvia
Biott won the competition with her proggy mat.
Members
were informed that the subscription for 2014 will be £34.70. [Dual £15.80]
We
all left happily after a good supper with our free copy of the
“Landscape”
magazine.
Our next meeting promises to be an enjoyable one
and we will have to remember to bring extra food as 10 visitors are
expected
from Brizlee.
