MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE METHODIST CONFERENCE, REV. DR. KENNETH G. GREET

" There is much to be said for a sturdy independence. I am very glad, however, that in Methodism the stress is on whether we live in London or Land's End, Cardiff or Craster, we are one family. When, therefore, I convey to you on the occasion of your centenary the congratulations and good wishes of the Methodist people, it is no mere form of words. I am truly grateful for the privilege of speaking on behalf of the whole.

"I hope that through your celebrations you will be deeply encouraged as you look back over a century of service and witness for Christ. It has been a century of accelerating change. The next hundred years will see even greater change. The changes will bring problems, but also tremendous opportunities. As Cardinal Newman said, `To change is to live'. May God richly bless you and enable you to live in the spirit of Charles Wesley's great hymn:

`Changed from glory into glory.'
